Query: G.N.I.S.

The place grew around the hotel which H. J. Bradley built on his American Ranch in the early 1850's. When it became the seat of the newly formed Plumas County in 1854, it was called Quincy, after Bradley's native town in Illinois (Gudde, 1969).
