Compression, lateral; Disarticulation, between florets; Glumes, lower, 6 mm., veins, 3, upper, 9 mm., ≤lowest floret, veins, 5, rounded, awns, absent; Florets, 4 per spikelet; Axis, scabrous, not extended; Callus, straight white hairs, 1 mm.; Lemma, 9.5 mm., lanceolate, rolled, green, veins, 7, glabrous, convergent, tip, 2-forked, awns, #1, 13 mm., attached on back, gently curving; Palea, 6 mm., <lemma, membraneous, veins, prominently ciliate; Stamens, #2; Anthers, 1.5-1.7 mm.; Ovary, glabrous; Stigma, feathery; Achene, unknown.
