Lippincott Ranch, Jefferson County, Colorado. Central "wasp waist" of ranch, just below the ranch road, 22.0 km. north northwest of the GNIS location of Golden. 39.9016°N, 105.2738°W. WGS 1984 Elev. 1987 M. Weakly rhizomatous. Grassland with a few ponderosa pines. Lippincott Ranch is jointly owned by City of Boulder Open Space and Mountain Parks and Jefferson County Open Space.

No. 2531, 29 June 2021, characters observed: Perennial grass, to 60 cm., weakly rhizomatous; Leaves, sheath and blade differentiated, soft; Sheath, 90 mm., open; Ligule, membraneous, 1 mm., auricles, 1 mm, curled away; Blade, 250 mm. × 3 mm., some flat, some revolute, abaxial glabrous, adaxial scabrous; Inflorescence, 1 per culm, >leaves, panicle, 80 mm. × 9 mm. wide, 2° branches; Rachis, not extended, scabrous on margins; Spikelets, many, 9-10 mm. × 2.5-3.0 mm. wide, similar, borne singly, pedicels, 2.0-7.5 mm.; Compression, unremarkable; Disarticulation, between florets; Glumes, lower, 3 mm., veins, 1, upper, 4.5 mm., <lowest floret, veins, 3, rounded, distally ±keeled, margins, scarious, awns, 0; Florets, 6 per spikelet, 5×♀ + 1 bisexual; Axis, extended; Lemma, 6.5 mm., >glumes, lanceolate, membraneous, rolled, glabrous, green with some purple distally, veins, 3, glabrous, margins, scarious, tip, entire, acute, awns, 0; Palea, 6 mm., ±=lemma, veins, ciliate, green → purple, tip, entire; Anthers, 2, 2.3 mm., cream-colored; Ovary, glabrous; Achene, 3 mm., golden brown.
