Rosa arkansana Porter.  Prairie Rose.

Twin Creek, Jefferson County, Colorado. On a terrace of the right bank of Twin Creek, near its mouth at Goose Creek, about 250 m. southeast of the Sheeprock Trailhead, 7.7 mi. west and south on F. R. 211 from County Road 126., 11.9 km. southwest of Deckers. 39.19516°N, 105.34247°W. WGS 1984 Elev. 2272 m. Small prickles on new growth, 7-9 leaflets per leaf, leaflets contiguous, terminal blade margins dentate. Ponderosa pine and Douglas fir forest with Cymopterus lemmonii, Erigeron flagellaris, Ribes cereum, Anemonastrum canadense, Geum macrophyllum var. perincisum, Galium boreale, Carex inops var heliophila and Hesperostipa comata. Mature Douglas fir and ponderosa pines suggest the Hayman Fire (2002) may have burned with low intensity here.
