Humulus neomexicanus (A. Nelson & Cockerell) Rydb.  New Mexican Hops.

Twin Creek, Jefferson County, Colorado. On the right bank of Twin Creek, 130 m. above its mouth at Goose Creek, about 180 m. east-southeast of the Sheeprock Trailhead, 7.7 mi. west and south on F. R. 211 from County Road 126., 11.9 km. southwest of Deckers. 39.19563°N, 105.34292°W. WGS 1984 Elev. 2282 m. Sterile, season too early for flowers or fruit. Jumbled down logs with shrubs and herbs including Artemisia frigida, Cirsium vulgare, Ribes idaeus, R. inerme, Thalictrum fendleri, Physocarpus monogynus, and Prunus virginiana. Mixed burned and live mature Douglas fir and ponderosa pines suggest the Hayman Fire (2002) may have burned with low to medium intensity here.
