Rudbeckia hirta L. var. pulcherrima Farw.  Black-Eyed Susan.

North Twin Creek, Jefferson County, Colorado. Left bank of North Twin Creek, 215 m. northwest of the F. R. 211 crossing of North Twin Creek, 6.8 mi. west and south on F. R. 211 from its north end at County Road 126, 11.6 km. southwest of Deckers. 39.20894°N, 105.34732°W. WGS 1984 Elev. 2417 m. Solitary plants to clumps of 12 stems. Yellow rays, pappus absent, hirsute. Streamside among aspen and water birch near creek in mature ponderosa pine and Douglas fir forest, also collected here: Betula occidentalis, Monarda fistulosa, Primula pauciflora, Rosa acicularis ssp. sayi, and Rubus idaeus. Within the perimeter of the Hayman Fire (2002), though this area mapped as low intensity.
