In regards to the information on Ackmen & Pleasant View. Ackmen was the first settlement (1913) which was located to the south & west of the present day Pleasant View. Hadley was a family that had a store in 1916 and also ran the post office which was named Ackmen. When Highway 160 went thru the area in the late 1930's, it was located to the east of Ackmen, therefore the people moved the town to present Pleasant View area and changed the name to Pleasant View.

Pleasant View is in Montezuma County, but only 4 miles from the Dolores County line. The newspaper moved to Dove Creek in Dolores County when the town of Ackmen moved to Pleasant View.

Sincerely,

Audrey Garchar
