Route 718, the Harrison Pass Road, crosses the Ruby Mountains just south of their mid point. When I visited this area, the highway was under construction from the west side to the pass.

| To the north NV Hwy 228 goes to Spring Creek, where it connects with NV Hwy 227, to Elko, or to Lamoille. To the south, NV Hwy 228 connects to the dirt road of NV Hwy 719. This road leads to Railroad Pass across the north end of the Diamond Mountains, or to NV Hwy 892 in the Newark Valley, and US Hwy 50. |  Looking West from Harrison Pass.
